[01:22.360 --> 01:26.800]  So look at the pictures tonight, this firefighter here battling a fully engulfed car,
[01:26.800 --> 01:30.240]  and then this image, like so many others, once the cars are set on fire, the buildings
[01:30.240 --> 01:34.760]  beside them, going up in flames, leaving apartments like this one, a burned-out shell.

[01:37.440 --> 01:41.040]  Tonight, the latest from investigators, as they try to put together a profile, here's

[01:42.320 --> 01:49.560]  Police tonight announcing a possible break in the case, surveillance video of a person of interest
[01:49.560 --> 01:54.880]  as investigators searched for the serial arsonist responsible for a string of fires set
[01:54.880 --> 01:55.880]  throughout Hollywood.
[01:55.880 --> 02:01.000]  The actual funeral lasts 72 hours here in these communities of Kept, these public safety
[02:01.000 --> 02:02.280]  professionals up at night.
[02:02.280 --> 02:09.400]  It's being called the worst wave of arson in 20 years in L.A. Fortunately, no one has been injured.
[02:09.400 --> 02:14.080]  I could have died with my children, even as firefighters, and police officers doubled
[02:14.080 --> 02:16.880]  and tripled their manpower throughout the city.
[02:16.880 --> 02:23.040]  The increased surveillance was not enough to stop a serial arsonist from striking again.

[02:25.440 --> 02:29.760]  Investigators say most of the fires began as car fires, but the flames quickly spread

[02:36.000 --> 02:40.920]  Arson investigators are searching for clues, and also building a psychological profile of

[02:41.920 --> 02:46.720]  They do it for recognition or fame, and oftentimes we see that they
[02:46.720 --> 02:48.880]  do it out of spite at an anger.
[02:48.880 --> 02:52.000]  Experts say many serial arsonists, after long,
[02:52.000 --> 02:55.360]  they're typically white males with below average IQs.
[02:55.360 --> 02:59.760]  It would appear that the primary motive may not be killing people.
[02:59.760 --> 03:02.000]  The primary motive may be attention.
[03:02.000 --> 03:08.720]  And until investigators solved this case, it looks like another restless night for firefighters.
[03:08.720 --> 03:13.920]  Experts say that many serial arsonists find pleasure in coming back to the scene of the fire,
[03:13.920 --> 03:17.120]  so they can watch as firefighters try to battle the blades.
[03:17.120 --> 03:20.560]  Investigators are asking anyone who sees anything suspicious.

[04:11.360 --> 04:16.000]  Raising questions about whether he managed to fly with the C4 explosives during the first

[04:19.600 --> 04:24.480]  But there's no indication at this point that he was wanted to do anything malicious.
